🍎 MyPlate Teaching Moment
The sauce itself isn’t meant to be the star nutritionally — it’s the flavor builder.
To balance the meal, I served it like this:
🥩 Ground beef → Protein
🥦 Mixed vegetables → Half the plate
🍚 Cauliflower rice → Grain substitute / vegetable base
The vegetable mix I used included:
Brussels sprouts
Sweet potatoes
Broccoli
Red onions
Zucchini
This combination helped create a meal that included:

How I Prepared It
I sautéed:

🥕 Carrots
🥦 Broccoli
🧅 Onions
🥒 Zucchini
Then added:
🥩 Ground beef
🍅 Entire jar of sauce
Served with:
🥦 Cauliflower rice

Flavor & Texture
✔ Tomato-forward base
✔ Mild Moroccan spice
✔ Gentle sweetness from apricots
✔ Slight warmth but not spicy
If you enjoy tomato-based sauces with a touch of sweet fruit flavor, this works really well.
🛒 A = Accessibility
This jar was gifted by a friend, so I don’t have a purchase price or exact store location.
However, Al’Fez products are commonly found at larger grocery stores and international food sections.
The label also states:
❄ Refrigerate after opening
⏱ Use within 3 days
I used the entire jar for my dish.

Why?
✔ Balanced flavor
✔ Easy meal base
✔ Mild spice level
✔ Good for vegetable-heavy dishes
Not Tachycardia simply because it’s a sauce — it depends on what you build around it.
But I would absolutely eat it again.
📣 T = Tell Others & Tips
Tips for next time:
✔ Serve with basmati rice or brown rice if you want more carbohydrates
✔ Great for vegetable-heavy meals
✔ Works well with beef or chicken
✔ Could also be used for vegetarian dishes with chickpeas or lentils
Remember: sauces add flavor, but the nutrition of the meal mostly comes from the protein, vegetables, and grains you pair with it.
