🩺 On Today’s Exam Table: Shameless Snacks Gummy Candy – So Beary Cherry Flavor

Today we’re reviewing a snack I kept seeing pop up in my Facebook ads: Shameless Snacks Gummy Candy. I purchased a variety pack of six 1.8-oz bags from Amazon for $19, which comes out to about $3.16 per bag.

Shameless sells these directly on their website for around $3.50 per bag (plus shipping), with a subscribe-and-save option that lowers the price. Since I wasn’t sure if I’d like them, Amazon felt like the safest first step.

Today’s focus flavor: So Beary Cherry 🍒🐻

💙 H = Health (Nutrition, Ingredients & MyPlate Teaching)

According to the package, each bag contains:

  • 90 calories

  • 3g sugar

  • No fat

  • 0g protein

  • 41g total carbohydrates

  • 29g dietary fiber

  • 8g net carbs or less

Certified:

  • ✅ Gluten-free

  • ✅ Vegan

  • ✅ Non-GMO

👉 Net carbs are calculated by subtracting dietary fiber and sugar alcohols from total carbohydrates.

Fiber Teaching Moment 🧠

Fiber helps:

  • Regulate blood sugar

  • Support digestion and gut motility

  • Increase fullness and satiety

Most adults need ~20–25g of fiber per day.
⚠️ One single bag of these gummies contains MORE fiber than most adults need in an entire day.

That’s not a bad thing — but it does mean portion awareness matters.

The first three ingredients are:

  • Soluble corn fiber

  • Polydextrose

  • Erythritol

These are common fiber and sugar-alcohol ingredients, but they can cause GI symptoms (gas, bloating, discomfort) if your body isn’t used to them — especially when consumed all at once.

🍽️ E = Eating (Taste, Texture & How I Use It)

Taste & Texture

  • Reddish gummy bear shape

  • Firmer than traditional gummy bears

  • Sweet, classic cherry flavor

  • Slightly sticky “gummy candy” texture (sticks to teeth — I don’t mind this)

They taste good. Like… dangerously easy to eat good.

The bag size is generous, larger than many single-serve gummy snacks.

🛍️ A = Accessibility

  • Purchased via Amazon

  • Also available on the Shameless Snacks website

  • Price: Higher than traditional gummies

This is an important note: these gummies are not budget snacks. I fully recognize that not every family can justify this price point, and that matters.

💓 R = Rhythm Rating

👉 Sinus Rhythm 💗
Tasty, thoughtfully formulated, but requires portion awareness — especially for sensitive GI systems.

📣 T = Tell Others & Tips

✔️ These are very high-fiber gummies
✔️ Go slow if you’re not used to fiber or sugar alcohols
✔️ Consider partial portions, not the full bag at first

GI Update (Real-Life Follow-Up 🫣)

After eating these, I did experience increased gas/flatulence for a couple of days — exactly why I waited before publishing this review. Fiber works… sometimes very efficiently.

Family & Kid Tip 👧🧒

If my kids were younger and I was still packing lunches, I would:

  • NOT give a whole bag at once

  • Add a few gummies alongside fruit or another familiar snack

  • Use these as a fiber boost, not the main treat

📚 Fiber needs for kids:
A simple rule of thumb is age + 5 grams per day.
For example, a 12-year-old needs about 17g of fiber/day — meaning a full bag could be way too much at once.

💓 Rhythm Rating Legend

💓 Tachycardia — Love it. Would buy again immediately.
💗 Sinus Rhythm — Solid, dependable choice.
💙 Bradycardia — Meh. Probably wouldn’t rush to repurchase.
🖤 Flatline — No thank you.

As always, these are my personal experiences, not medical advice. Everyone’s body is different. Work with your own healthcare team to find what helps you live safe, happy, and healthy.
