🩺 The HEART Exam: Vans Gluten-Free Waffles 🧇
❤️ Health Check
Today’s “patients” are both from Vans—their Original and Blueberry Gluten-Free Waffles 🍽️
Both are:
✔️ Certified gluten-free
✔️ Non-GMO
✔️ Dairy- and egg-free
✔️ Kosher
✔️ No high fructose corn syrup or artificial colors/flavors
🩸 Nutrition per 2 waffles:
Original: 190 cal | 6g fat | 31g carbs (1g fiber) | 2g protein | calcium + iron
Blueberry: 200 cal | 6g fat | 34g carbs (2g fiber) | 2g protein | calcium + iron
💡 Nutrition Nugget:
These waffles provide a small hit of calcium, which supports bones 🦴 and muscle contraction 💪. The iron helps carry oxygen throughout your body (because oxygen = energy = brunch).
The fiber? It’s low — but still helps digestion and blood sugar balance. Want to bump it up? Add fruit (fiber + vitamin C) or nut butter (protein + healthy fats).
💛 Eating Experience
🧇 Toaster level 3, secured with tape because we’re professionals here.
I toasted both, tasted them plain first, then tested with Kirkland Organic Maple Syrup (the sweet MVP).
👅 Tasting Notes:
Original: Crispy outside, soft inside, mild flavor. Needs syrup or toppings to shine.
Blueberry: Crispy edges, nice blueberry aroma and flavor. Could eat this one plain if you’re not super sweet-toothed.
🍯 My maple syrup gave both waffles a glow-up. The sweetness made the original come alive and enhanced the blueberry flavor beautifully.
Confession: I wish I had my mom’s homemade chocolate syrup today. (It’s legendary in our house.)

💬 Tell Others
If you’re craving an easy breakfast that won’t set off your allergies, Vans waffles are a great staple.
🔹 Pair the original with: nut butter, maple syrup, or chocolate drizzle for flavor + extra protein.
🔹 Enjoy the blueberry with just syrup or a little plant-based butter.
If you find a higher protein gluten/dairy-free waffle, please page me immediately — I’ll volunteer as tribute.
And yes, I may have snuck a few extra blueberry waffles while writing this. For science. 😉
🫶 Final Thoughts
These waffles may not be protein powerhouses, but they’re tasty, accessible, and allergy-friendly — a big win in my book.
They make breakfast feel normal, which for many of us with food restrictions, is a gift in itself.
Stay cozy, stay curious, and as always —
